Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccination

(Wednesday, 21 June 2023)

The Marshside Surgery has joined with the other practices in North & Central Southport to set up a Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination site. The project is being co-ordinated by Southport & Formby CCG on our behalf.  Please do not contact us with any questions about the vaccination programme at this stage as we are unlikely to have the answers - the NHS will get in touch when it's your turn to be vaccinated & a helpline will be set up soon.

Vaccination will take place at Southport Centre for Health & Wellbeing, 44-46 Houghton Street, PR9 0PQ.  There are car park facilities, & signs/marshalls will be available to help you navigate around the site.  Please arrive as close as possible to your appointment time & please wear a face covering.  If necessary, you may bring one other person with you as a chaperone.  Please do not attend if you are unwell on the day or following isolation rules.

The order in which people will be offered the vaccine is based on advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination & Immunisation (JCVI) about who is most at risk from Coronavirus.  When each delivery of vaccine is received, it will be shared out fairly between practices in North & Central Southport. You may be required to remain on-site for 15 minutes post-vaccination & a second dose of vaccine will be required; within 12 weeks.

The Marshside Surgery & our staff are excited to be taking part in this project, which should finally help us to move on from the pandemic & return to normal life.  However, in order for us to prioritise the project & supply staff as vaccinators, some of our less urgent activity at the Surgery is likely to be postponed from time to time.  Thank you very much in anticipation of your support & understanding.
